For sale is my 2004 Suzuki Carry 1.3 off-grid-camper/cargo van.
Great little van that i kitted out myself one year ago but now need to part with as i just became a dad and it only has 2 seats 🙁
The van is ULEZ compliant and a great runner. Low fuel consumption, petrol. Central locking, Hyundai LT 13 inch aluminium wheels with 1 year old all weather tires, decent tread. Mot until November 2024. Body in good condition for a van that age. Recent repairs include new auxiliary belt, new u-joint assembly. New starter motor. New battery.
Anti-theft chain guard for catalytic converter.
The interior of the van is designed in a way that allows it to be used as a practical cargo van with a flat, spacious loading area, but when needed, can easily be transformed into a off-grid camper van that sleeps 2 adults. It comes with lots of features you would not expect in a micro van.
I spent 2 months converting the van and then took it on an 8 week Norway trip with my fiancé in April 2022. This little van did us very proud and was a constant talking point.
Here are some of the vans features:
– 110 amp Power Max sealed leisure battery
– split charge relay ( charges leisure battery while driving, using the vans alternator)
– 120w Ecoworth solar panel ( charges the leisure battery when stationary )
– Alpicool fridge/freezer 15l ( i did lots of fishing in Norway and actually stocked the freezer full with fish which i took back to the uk!!)
– 60 Liter roof mounted water tank ( gravity fed water system, no need for pump!) Just fill it up at a camp site and you’re good to go!
– 12v shower + pump ( just pop it in the water tank and enjoy an outdoor shower!)
– Halfords 470 l car roof box ( solar panel mounted on top)
– fold out double bed / sofa bed ( custom made with OYT 200mm thick memory foam mattress)
– primrose awning
– 2 sets of Thule roof bars (1 set new, 1 set retro)
– 4 warm dome lights with fused dimmer switch
– 4 x 12v fused sockets
– Campingnaz double stove with storage for 4 gas canisters
– High quality cook ware, consisting of:
– 2 titanium plates
– 1 titanium -2 Liter pot
– 1 espresso maker
– 1 jetboil camping pan
– 1 Liter kettle
– Collapsible kitchen sink
– Stainless steel spice shakers
– Chopping board
– Folding stool
– 2 collapsible chairs
– Folding table
– Folding 20 l water bucket
– USB fan
– USB Mini vacuum
The van is fully insulated and heats up very quickly using only body temperature. When needed, i boiled a hot water bottle and popped it in the sleeping bag. Heater could be fitted if desired.
The cabin is fully felted and the interior is clean. Plenty of storage for sleeping bags/bedding, clothes and kit. All drawers and compartments build from marine ply, felted throughout. Folding table with spare table that tucks into the wall. Kitchen area slides out at rear of the van, using the tailgate as rain cover. Pantry drawer with sliding work top. Custom black out curtains. I fixed the upholstery of the seats and snazzed up the visors with cool fabric. The sofa bed, when not needed, can easily be stored or used as a sofa bed in a spare bedroom at home.
One of the coolest features of this van is the amazing sound system! It’s high spec and worth about £1K. This is the best sound system I’ve ever owned and sounds phenomenal in the tiny cabin.
– JVC bluetooth/cd radio with hands free system
– Set of Audison APX4 120w front speakers
– Set of Audison APX5 180w doors speakers
– Kenwood 400w sub woofer with built in amp + remote control ( remote control is great, allowing you to adjusts the thumping base to each tune!)
I am sad to see this van go but i hope that it will find a nice new home and be taken on many new adventures.
