We have owned and loved our Murvi from new. We’ve been all over the UK , Lands End to John O’ Groats, including, Shetland, the Western Isles and Northern Ireland. We’ve done festivals, including Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Fringe and recieved many enquiries about our lovely van and offers to buy – particularly during lockdown! But, having at last ticked all our camper touring boxes, now is the time for others to enjoy her.

We chose Murvi because of the extremely spacious (for a 2 berth campervan) lounge area, where you can sit in comfort (and shade!) on the L shaped sofa to gaze at the view through the huge sliding door. It’s like a VW but a LOT more luxurious – Murvis are highly sought after vans!

With the front swivel captain seats it has regularly seated seven in comfort for e.g. fish and chip suppers by the sea and still have easy acces to the kitchen for rounds of tea! It is a very sociable vehicle. It will fit into a supermarket parking space and There are seat belts for seven to travel.

The sofa easily converts to a full size ‘rock and roll’ double bed (140cm wide and over 6ft long) with ample and easily accessible under seat storage for bedding and an additional under seat storage area which we use for camping essentials.There is plenty of storge throughout the van including over the cab. Relaxing on the L shaped sofa in bad weather is a joy, especially with the wide sliding door open!

Towards the back of the van, past the large wardrobe, the kitchen area also has plenty of cupboards, a 90 litre 3way fridge with freezer compartment (lpg/mains/battery) and an lpg 4 burner hob and grill. The airfryer sits conveniently on the worktop leaving plenty of room for food prep. Hot water is available at the kitchen sink via the van heating system.
The bathroom is also spacious with an additional sink, cupboards, a large mirror , zog toilet (no need for chemicals) and a shower – which is also great for hosing the dog outside the van after a muddy walk!

The rooftop solar panel panel is brilliant – great for festivals and out of the way/wild camping spots (they always have the best views!)– we have never run out of power. The LPG for the hob and the fridge (on gas) lasts for ages – filling up on LPG is a once a year job, if that. The van heating system runs on mains or diesel. We have been cosy in the snow and cool in the heat.

It has been regularly serviced by Fiat at Adams Morey in Southampton.

There are a three main snags: 1) the fiamma awing needs attention – the year before last I broke my arm and with a sudden weather change in Scotland was unable to wind it in in time. I believe the awning itself is fine, just the mechanism needs looking at.
2)The fridge is not working on gas at the moment because, for various reasons, we didn’t get round to turning it on to gas regularly (I think once a month) over the winter. It was looked at May ‘23.
3) The rocker switch on one of the led lights over the bed isn’t working. The light does work but it needs to be turned off at the main switch with the rest of the lights.
So with these snags in mind, which I think handier people than us could deal with fairly easily, we are asking £26,775 o.n.o. rather than the circa £28,500 suggested by Murvi.
