I have for sale my 2015 LWB 313 Mercedes Sprinter Campervan. The van was self converted over 2020/21 for a Euro trip so it has been designed in a way that is comfortable for long term use however would be equally suited to weekend trips.
Full details are as follows:
The Kitchen
In the kitchen there is a 2 ring gas burner connected to a 16L underslung LPG tank. For reference – when using the LPG for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and the use of the shower the first time we had to refill was 3 months down the line and a full tank cost around £8.50. There is also a kill switch for the gas inside the kitchen to prevent any leaks inside. There is also a gauge to tell you how much gas is remaining. The LPG fill point is located on the driver side rear of the van and comes with the different adapters for different countries.
There is a full sized stainless steel sink as well as a full sized tap with the shower head feature, the hose can also extend to allow for rinsing. There is a shurflo 7 Lph water pump with inline home grade water filter with replacement cartridges. There is also a hand soap pump connected to a 5L bottle underneath the sink. Drainage wise the water that leaves the sink is drained into an underslung 45L waste water tank and the fresh water is drawn from the 70L fresh water tank at the rear of the van. There is an indicator inside to let you know when the drainage is full and how much fresh water is left.
There is a 45L Dometic fridge/freezer which runs off the leisure battery which has more space than you would think for anything you need to keep cold.
The floor is a good quality hard wearing laminate floor. There is a hatch which allows access to the drivers cab and above this there is a large storage cubby which goes pretty far back so is a decent space.
There are 4 large drawers, and 3 large cupboards providing you with plenty of storage space in the kitchen area. The panels on the cupboard nearest the sink can be removed to allow access to the water pump and relevant plumbing. All cupboards are fitted with the soft close hinge and can be removed in seconds, they all have magnets inside to prevent opening whilst driving. The drawers have push to open runners.
All cupboards and drawers were made using plywood and have been treated with primer and non toxic paints. The real wood work tops have been treated with Tung oil again to avoid anything toxic in such a small space.
To the right of the kitchen there is a double 240V socket and 2 USB charging points.
Seating Area / Toilet
The seating area consists of two very spacious seats with firm foam cushions on top, the real wood table made from the same wood as the work top is hinged so it can be folded back down when not in use. Underneath one seat is a large storage area and underneath the other is the toilet.
The toilet has been designed so that it just slides out on the tray and simply slides away again when not in use. It is a Thetford 345 Chemical Toilet.
Bedroom / Storage
Above the seating area we have a full sized double bed as well as a large chest the full length of the bed which can be used for storage of clothes, toiletries and anything else. On the face of this storage is the control to the LED lights above the bed and above the kitchen area. There is also the inverter switch, and solar panel/battery monitor. And on the otherside a further 2 usb sockets.
Heating
The van is heated by a diesel heater which is located underneath the passenger seat. The vent then comes out into the living area just below the drawers. There is a 2 way split from the heater and there is ducting which runs behind all of the units all the way to the garage. This is to allow some heat to enter the garage so that the temperature difference is not extreme enough to cause any mould issues in there.
The heater itself is ran from the leisure battery and of course diesel. It is fed direct from the vans diesel tank to avoid having to fill up small containers and store them in the van thus also leaving a horrible diesel smell in the van.
Insulation
Prior to any insulation being installed the whole van was ridded of any rust spots and repainted. The floor and walls were then lined with sound deadening before applying insulation. The floor is lined with 25mm Recticel Insulation boards and lined with pressure treated beams.
The walls also have 25mm boards as well as recycled plastic insulation in the cativities. The roof has 50mm boards. Finally everything was covered in reflectics insulation. The walls and roof have been lined with cladding and the doors with a good quality carpet.
The Garage/Shower
Because the bed is long ways this leaves a lot of room in the garage. We used the this for mountain biking so it benefits from a pull out bike tray on the left hand side although this can easily be removed if you never intend to have bikes in the van. It is screwed into the floor however it has been floored underneath so it wouldn’t look too out of place if it was removed.
The walls and floor of the garage have been insulated the exact same way as the rest of the van however it is stick on tile floor in there and has under bed lighting to light the garage up.
To the side of the bike tray is the Camplux 6L p/h LPG Shower. This is a hot water shower and is ran from the LPG tank. Simply turn on and you have instant hot water at a decent pressure. There is also a flexible flu on the shower which simply pops through the door when you are showering so there is absolutely no Co2 going into the van. This is a back door shower so it is designed to be used at the back of the van with the doors open, there is a shower curtain and magnets included.
To the right of the garage is completely empty and perfect for storing all your bigger outdoor items or extra food and drink.
The water fill point is right at the front of the garage where you open the doors.
The Electrics
The electrics are also located in the garage and are as follows:
Polinovel 200 AH Lithium Battery LiFE PO4 HD Series
Epever 40A MMPT Solar Charge Controller
Renogy 40A DC-DC Battery Charger
Victron Blue Smart 1P22 20A Mains Charger
Novopal 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
4 x 120w Eco Worthy Solar Panels
There are 3 ways to charge the leisure battery, solar, alternator and electric hookup. There is a kill switch for each charger. Everything powered in the van has a fuse and there is also a consumer unit which controls the 240V side of things.
For reference when on a trip across Europe we used the air fryer, hair dryer, chargers and all other daily electronics as well as the fridge being running 24/7 and we never had to use the electric hook up once. The solar does a great job of charging the battery and any driving you do will also charge the battery. It is a great set up and there really isn’t much restriction on what you can use especially when theres a lot of sun.
The Roof/Outside
On the roof there is the Rhino Modular roof bars which all 4 solar panels sit on. There is also the Thule Roof Fan which can be used to draw air into the van and extract air out when cooking. There is also the Thule Omnistor 5200 Awning which is 3.5m x 2.5m so perfect for those really sunny days when youre after a bit of shade.
There are two windows on the van one on the rear door and the other on the sliding door which allows in plenty of light without sacrificing a lot of privacy.
As mentioned earlier the waste water tank, fresh water tank and LPG tank are all located underneath the vehicle as well as the LPG fill point to the driverside rear.
Sound System
The original stereo has been replaced with an Android headunit which has all the modern features as well as Bluetooth connectivity giving you the option use handsfree and play music. This is also hooked up to the reversing camera which has been installed at the back of the van.
The door speakers have been changed to Kicker 450w Speakers, there is also a Vibe 1500 watt amplifier and a Opitsound 300 watt sub which is located in the dead space behind the drivers seat so is not eating into any room. The original sound system was very basic so for longer journeys, especially if you enjoy listening to music, this will make a massive difference.
Cosmetic and Mechanical
The van has covered just over 100,000 miles so is still very much a baby in terms of these engines. It has been serviced twice since ownership (Service history on these is all digital). The van has just had a fresh MOT done with no advisories.
The brake discs and pads all round have been upgraded to Brembo due to the additional weight giving it better stopping power.
It has x4 All Season Nankang Tyres with plenty of tread on them. These are great for all weathers and have been tested multiple times in the snow with no issues.
Sumo Springs Bump Stops have been installed in the front and rear which has made a massive difference to the handling and ride of the van. It stops the sway that you would get whilst on the normal suspension and keeps the van a lot more stable.
Mechanically the van drives very well and there are no issues there.
Cosmetically there a couple of tiny marks here and there but overall the van is in lovely condition with no dents or scuff marks. The wheels could potentially do with a little respray but it doesn’t really affect the look of the van.
The van has been reclassified by DVLA as a van with windows, making getting insurance much easier and cheaper.
Everything has been well tested and all works exactly as it should. I have tried to go into as much detail as possible so you have an idea of the spec of the van. If you have any questions or there is anything specifically you would like to ask please do not hesitate to get in touch. Im happy to take any additional photos you may need.
