I’m selling my 1996 Mazda bongo 4X4 friendee.
It currently has : 165252 (the odometer reads in KM so it’s around 103000 miles)
I have quite a lot of paperwork with the van including MOT certficates going back to 2013
I also have lots of paperwork showing various bits of maintaenance throughout it’s time this includes;
Battery – 21/03/2024
Alternator – 16/11/2018
Heater hoses – 22/03/2018
Coolant hoses – 22/03/2018 (I also fully removed a rear metal coolant hose and replaced it with rubber).
Gearbox cooler pipes – 26/03/2018
Expansion tank – 26/03/2018
2 x Wishbones – 17/01/2017
Fuel tank 14/02/2017
Steering rack – 31/07/2017
Glow plugs – 07/02/2024
Fuel pump – 13/10/2022
Cambelt – 13/10/2022
It also had extensive welding done back in 04/10/2022 (receipt in pictures)
I have also installed a diesel heater, which can be controlled from a keyring or inside the van. I serviced the van in 10/06/25, renewed the starter solenoid on the 30/09/2025 renewed the auxilliary belts in 03/24, serviced it in 30/09/2025 and it had the exhaust silencer changed over on the 10/05/2025 and the backbox done on the 28/09/2024.
The kitchen conversion was fitted in 22/02/2017 and features a two ring gas hob, 2 x cupboard doors on the front 4 in the rear, one of which houses the sinks waste and supply as well as another storage cupboard above near the sink.
I have also installed a 12v Tv with a roku box which will be perfect for a wet day in!
There are multiple outlets in the van, one in the lower cupboard (I used this for a cooler box) and one in the above cupboard for the Tv and also a 2 x usb plug in the rear.
The van is able to be hooked up to sites with the 240v orange cable stored on the rear.
The van is a 4 berth – 2 x people can sleep in the pop-top roof which has a moonroof and a light, and two can sleep in the bottom where the rear seats combine to make a bed.
I also added some bullbars with foglights.
The van is a 2.5 litre diesel, Automatic with a “gear hold” function and it’s an all wheel drive
There’s also electric blinds, roof bars, rear door “quieter” closing mechanism and Air-con.
The not so good bits:
As expected with a van of this age there are marks and scratches in various places and as typical of the bongo there is also rust, the wings in particular aren’t great but they are still hard and shouldn’t be an issue come MOT time, the sills were patched up prior to it’s last MOT but there is still a hole (simple patch).
