Description

2016 Ford Transit LWB High Roof Campervan – 2/3 Berth
2016 Ford Transit Mk8 LWB High Roof Campervan – 125,000 miles
A really well-equipped, practical campervan that has been built with mountain biking, outdoor adventures and comfortable camping in mind.
It’s an older van, so the bodywork has some age-related dents and scratches, but nothing excessive for its age. It drives extremely well and has a very good specification throughout.

The bodywork has a few dents and scratches consistent with the age of the van. These could be tidied up at the buyer’s expense if required.
Sleeping / Living
The van is set up as a 2/3 berth.
The main sleeping area comfortably sleeps two adults, while the 150cm bench seat can be converted into a child’s bed, making it ideal for a couple with a child.
The bench seat also doubles as a large storage box, giving plenty of space for clothes, equipment and other camping essentials.
There is additional overhead cupboard storage for clothing and belongings, plus:
Three drawers, including a dedicated cutlery drawer
Large additional cupboard suitable for a bin or other equipment
Rear garage storage cupboards beneath the bed
Kitchen
A really good-sized kitchen area with:
Large sink
Induction hob
65-litre fridge with freezer
Good worktop space
Swing-out/sliding table which can be positioned in or out depending on how much space you need
Shower & Water System
The van has a full-size shower with:
90-litre underslung fresh-water tank
40-litre waste-water tank
10-litre 12V/240V water heater
Extractor fan
Small opening boat-style window
The shower window has been designed so the shower head can actually be taken outside, allowing you to use it as an outdoor shower when required.
The water heater is connected to the inverter and heats the water very quickly — approximately 20 minutes to take the water from around 10°C to 70°C.
There is enough hot water for a minimum of approximately a two-minute shower, depending on the temperature and flow settings.
Electrical System
The electrical system is designed to provide plenty of off-grid power:
300Ah Renogy lithium battery
3,000W Renogy inverter
Renogy 12V–12V 40A DC-DC charger
40A Renogy solar charge controller
400W solar panels
240V electric hook-up with charger
Correctly sized fuses and isolation switches
240V mains power available inside the van
The van is therefore capable of running a good range of electrical equipment both off-grid and when connected to mains power.
Heating & Lighting
Diesel heater plumbed directly into the vehicle’s main fuel tank
LED lighting throughout
Dimmable interior lights
Dimmable reading lights
Roof extractor fan with remote control
Opening roof skylight
Built-in blackout blind
Built-in insect/bug blind
Mountain Bike / Garage Setup
This van was specifically designed with mountain biking in mind.
The rear garage has a heavy-duty slide-out bike tray, which can carry up to two full-size mountain bikes inside the van.
There is also:
Additional storage cupboards underneath the bed
Garage lighting
Plenty of room for riding equipment and camping gear
New Thule 2-bike carrier fitted to the rear doors
This makes it a particularly useful setup for anyone wanting to take full-size mountain bikes away without having to leave them exposed outside the van.
Privacy & Blackout
Curtains/blinds for sliding door
Blind for kitchen window
Blackout blinds for cab
Rear door blinds
Roof skylight blackout blind
Optional Changes
If required, I can also arrange:
Swivel base installation
Conversion from the existing double passenger seat to a single passenger seat
This could make the front area more versatile and create additional space for travelling with a child.
Overall
This is a very well-equipped campervan with a huge amount of specification for the money.
It has been built as a genuinely practical adventure van rather than just a basic camper conversion, with a particularly good setup for mountain biking, camping and off-grid trips.
It has plenty of electrical capacity, 400W solar, a large fresh-water tank, hot water, full shower, diesel heating, fridge/freezer, induction cooking and a purpose-built internal bike storage system.
It’s an older van, so please don’t expect perfect bodywork — it has some dents and scratches — but mechanically it drives extremely nicely and the interior/equipment provide a very capable camper setup.
