Conversion Description

Reluctant sale of our amazing surf van because we are emigrating.

We purchased this 8 seater long wheel based, high top Mercedes sprinter 4 years ago, after struggling to find a van with enough seats, berths and storage to accommodate our family of 5. Plus all of our outdoor pursuit equipment: bikes, surf boards, skate boards, climbing gear, paddle boards, buckets, spades and bbq, camping chairs etc.

The van has been lovingly converted by myself(a fully qualified carpenter/joiner of 20year). This is a very unique conversation with quality hard wearing materials used throughout. The cupboard doors are Wester Red Ceder, and table and kitchen worktops are oak. The van is light and airy due to the 2 large sky lights that open and have fly screens and blinds. (These alone cost nearly £1000.) The kitchen area is well proportioned, with lots of storage, pull out draws and a fridge, additionally a high spec gas hob and sink. The table can sit 4 adults comfortably and there are 2 additional seats for other guests.

There is one large double bed with folds away and another smaller double at the rear of the vehicle and a kids bunk above. Again there is loads of storage at the back of the van for clothes, bedding, books and toys etc. There is a pull out portaloo that is stored in a well designed cupboard under the fixed bed.

A lot of time and thought has gone into the lighting in the van with the option of led lighting, spot lights, reading lights. There is a diesel heater for year round use. This is a off grid camper with its own power source from solar panels and everything required for of grid camping.

We also spent out on a top of the range fiamma awning with integrated led lighting which is erected by a simply winding mechanism.
